hello, husband and i just got back from a sight seeing tour in Colombia and we quickly realized… pictures and sight seeing just isn’t our thing. We get bored easily. We like good quality food, craft cocktails and actual activities that require more than just “sight seeing” , such as making a dish, building something, riding the mario go karts, climbing mt. fuji? etc…
things we dont want——
example: we dont want to go to a high rise, make a long line just for a panoramic view of any kind or just to “be” somewhere We also dont care to walk just to reach a tourist trap/ historic temple and call it a day.
things we like:
– finding the best food and drinks, spas, an activity that requires engaging such as a tea ceremony or any social activities. Anything with a little adrenaline, extremely authentic rare, or unique to the area we are visiting.
we will arrive in kyoto march 22 friday night and will be there all of Saturday, Sunday and Monday. (will pick one of these days to visit Osaka. We will end our week in Tokyo starting Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and leave to Narita airport at 3PM Friday.
does anyone recommend any activities or life changing food, bars, tours in any of these cities?

The nightlife/bar scene is much better in Osaka than in Kyoto so I’d recommend basing yourself in Osaka for the weekend, doing day trips to Kyoto, and then enjoying the Osaka bar/nightlife scene at night.
You probably will not like Kyoto then. You’re better off staying Osaka and enjoying Dotonbori. In Tokyo you’re going to enjoy Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Roppongi
