2000 yen will stop no one. Make it 20,000 yen for tourists, free for taxpayers.
Could make it ¥5,000 to be honest and it would still be paid.
That’s a really small amount of money. Mt Everest has the same issues with crowding and litter being left.
If this helps then I’d happily pay it.

Â¥2000???
They’ll just have the same amount of tourists but suddenly be flush with hundreds of millions of yen LMAO.
Especially someone like me who has climbed it every year I love here, sometimes more than once when friends come visit.
I’ll never understand going somewhere during peak tourism season. The crowded airports, trains, toilets, sounds, smells… I always research what’s the least popular season, and even then get as far away from the major cities as possible.
Only Yoshida Trail, which I have little interest in climbing due to the crazy crowd density. I’ve been on two other trails.
if I pay 2000y then I will not pay those “voluntary” 1000y. i always did because i like the small wood straps they give you; but is not worth it now
Make it 10000Â¥
