Mira lax or something like that for babies under 2 years old in drug store?

Hello,

Any families with little kids in japan know any good miralax form of stuff that I could buy from drug store? I think my child is constipated. I am not sure what’s a good medicine to buy?

Thank you

  1. Take the child to a pediatrician and get them to prescribe something. Depending on where you live, it will probably be free or at least cheaper than going to the drug store. Plus you know you are getting the correct medicine for your child.

  2. This was a long time ago for me, but when my kid was constipated, I took him to the hospital, they recommended malt extract for light constipation. It is all natural, so I felt safe using it for my children. Worked ok.

  3. We haven’t needed a laxative yet, but fyi pureed prune pouches were basically magic when we had newly arrived in Japan and had the same issue with a 2.5 year old. We found some at Bic o’ Bon. You can also sometimes find prune juice in grocery stores.
