Mountaineering / snow hike this weekend around Gifu

I tried asking on a facebook group specificaly about hiking in Japan but my post is refused so I’m trying here.

I’m looking to try mountainering, snow hiking sometime between this friday and sunday somewhere around Shiga / Gifu prefecture ( I am quite mobile, could go further )

I’m working remote so I could have the opportunity of joining other group in further areas in the coming months!

I believe I have the proper equipment ( crampons, snow shoes, ice axe, good clothes etc )

I hike quite often and I’m in good shape, I did a 10km hike with 1465m elevation in early november with a full backpack ( tent, sleeping bag etc ). But this would be a first in the snow using crampons etc.

So I was thinking about practicing at Mt Ibuki which judging by the snowcast map has some good condition at the moment.

( this is where I’m looking at the snow conditions https://www.jma.go.jp/bosai/en\_snow/#lat:35.447246/lon:136.779785/zoom:8/colordepth:normal/elements:snowd )

But I would be open to try something else like Mt Yake or any other if a group with some experience is planning something during that period and wouldn’t mind me joining in to learn from them.

I’m also interested in knowing where do you usually look to find informations about the hiking condition of each mountains when planning something like this.

Thank you in advance for your help!
