Help with 4-day Itinerary in Tokyo

Hello everyone,

My wife and I are taking our first trip to Asia. We’ve been fortunate enough to have traveled to many countries in Europe but this will be a first for us. I’ve heard great things about Tokyo and one of my friends has said it’s the BEST country he’s EVER been to(and my buddy has been to MANY places around the world). I do my homework religiously before going on any of my trips but I am honestly a little nervous on this trip, mainly because new for me. From previous posts, I’ve seen it shouldn’t be too difficult, since we’re just staying ONLY in Tokyo. It’s unfortunate the limited amount of days, but we make due with the days we have. We are staying in the Ginza area, at the Hotel Intergate Tokyo Kyobashi, which seems like it has overall good reviews. We fly out of LAX on Friday morning, February 23rd at about 7 AM and fly into Haneda Saturday afternoon at around 3 PM. The day of arrival, we plan to check in and most likely find a place to have dinner and start bright and early Sunday morning. As mentioned, I’ve read on here that most places don’t open up til later in the morning, so I was thinking of going straight to an early morning reservation. My plans as of right now are:

Sunday – stay in Ginza vicinity/area. 1st thing in the morning, do:

* teamLabs. After
* have an early lunch and walk around Tsukiji Market, then
* Tokyo Tower, lastly
* Imperial Palace

Monday – I made reservations to do a day trip to go see Mt. Fuji. I have heard it can be seen from Tokyo on a nice day, but wife wants to take the trip, so why not.

Tuesday – my plan is to “try” to take on the Shibuya/Shinjuku area. While I know there are MANY things to be seen in and between those regions, my plans are as follows:

* Shibuya Crossing
* Nintendo Tokyo
* Meiji Jingu
* Shinjuku Garden
* Golden Gui

Tuesday – plan is to go “north” and do:

* Ueno Park & Shrine
* Senso-ji
* Skytree
* Akibahara

This sums up “my” plans or itinerary to try and see the main attractions of Tokyo. All this is what I could gather from doing my research. I am aware we have to get the IC card? to get around but any tips or suggestions are highly encouraged and GREATLY appreciated. A little about us, born and raised in California, of hispanic descent. We aren’t big shoppers and really just enjoy walking around and seeing the sights. I myself am a big bourbon fan and have a nice collection of Buffalo Trace drinks at home. I’m looking forward to sushi, ramen and any other different food we can try. Thank you all in advance and please don’t hesitate to recommend any changes to my itinerary, thank you!
