Hi guys, first of all, I hope everything is going well for you.
I recently went to Japan for 4 months in a tourist visa in order to fine a job (I can 90days x2 with my passport) and managed to find a job in a hotel owned by a large real estate group. They are willing to sponsor me a visa. They sent me to an immigration lawyer to bring him documents and we applied for the engineer/humanities/international service visa.
The problem is that, initially I wanted to find a job in the supply chain field as it is my specialty(Supply/distribution management, planning…). I have been working in that field for few years now.
During my 4months job hunting in Japan, the most commun rejection reason was because they wanted someone that could start right away. Obviously not having a visa might be indeed a burden and they would rather take someone already settled in Japan.
Btw, I was applying by myself and through agencies.
My question is: even if I work at the hotel for some time, would It make it difficult for me to re-switch to a supply chain type position in the future ? Is switching job category in Japan common?
What I fear the most is that, future companies that I may apply to, would only take in consideration my work experience in Japan (the hotel) and not my +4years supply chain experience in my home country.
Thank you for taking the time to read me.
