I’ve seen many posts mentioning the terms “table 1” and “table 2” visas, but cannot seem to figure out where they come from. I’ve looked on Google, Reddit, MOJ, and MOFA.
In the JF wiki, there is [one mention](https://japanfinance.github.io/quick-start/essentials/#other-taxes) that a Table 1 visa is “any visa other than spouse/child/PR/LTR”.
I’d like to take a look at official sources.
Can anyone point me in the right direction on where the term “table X visa” actually stems from?
