This is most likely a shot in the dark but lately I’ve been wondering if there’s any ATMs around Kyoto City where USD can be withdrawn from US bank accounts and figured I’d come here and ask.
That’s up to your bank and card more than anything. I can withdraw from my home country bank using any 7-11 ATMs because they have an agreement, for instance.
You should check your bank page and look for international agreements and tourist services, that sort of stuff.
Do 7-11 ATMs not work for you? I used to withdraw from my US bank account there.
You can withdraw yen from ATMs in 7-11, for example, with your US bank card. If you want actual US currency you will have to withdraw yen, then take it to a currency exchange place to get dollars. I’m not sure if there is any other way.
I was 7qqcurious if it was possible to withdraw USD and take it to a currency converter but I knew it was a long shot. I usually use the Enet ATM at family mart since my apartment is practically nextdoor to one but I’ve been withdrawing in yen from all the ATMs that take international cards over the past year I’ve lived in Kyoto and Osaka
Also is it possible to deposit yen into international accounts through the ATM? I feel like I’ve seen the option but haven’t explored it yet since I never needed to until I started working part-time job and have been wanting to make deposits to transfer to family
