Which is the oldest part is of the city with the oldest buildings?

I know that much of the built up areas were destroyed during ww2, does anyone know which areas the buildings survived and are parts people can visit and stay in now? I can’t seem any of this on Google and assuming either the answer is basically no areas have many pre war buildings.. or it’s more of a local knowledge thing.
