Our family is moving to Kyoto from January 2024 on. My daughters (8 and 11), are avid figure skaters, they practice 4-5 times a week (private and group lessons) and their test level is Free Skate 5. I need to find them a coach or skating school in the Kyoto Area. I’m aware of the ice rink in Uji. I’ve tried contacting some skating schools in English, but did not get any reply. I think many coaches maybe put off by the idea of teaching someone who doesn’t speak Japanese. My daughters speak a little Japanese and I think it could work out with a bit of goodwill. I’ve lived in Japan before and can communicate in Japanese on a basic level. I would hate for them not to be able to continue after having worked so hard. I would be very grateful for any contact to a suitable coach.
