I’m quite new to selling on mercari. I have a buyer and they chose konbini payment. The deadline for payment was today. I was waiting for them to send to payment but they just sent me a message that they chose the wrong payment method. They want me to cancel the transaction and relist the product so they could buy it again with their preferred payment method.
I’m very wary of my account’s reviews. If I cancel the transaction what will happen to my account? Will I get a penalty for canceling?
What can I tell the buyer because I don’t really want to cancel since it was their fault for not checking properly the chosen payment method?

No penalty for cancelling once. I’ve had to cancel twice so far and no impact.
Best bet is be flexible and as there is no real penalty go ahead and cancel.
If the deadline is today just ignore them and relist it tomorrow after it expires
