So took shinkansen up to Jimokagen from Ueno. Turns out the local train is closed on winter. So you take two city busses. No problem. Problem is you pay city bus rate was like 950 for first and 1300 for second, plus the return. So on the bus a girl shows me I could have bought the 3day local bus pass which includes Onsen access for 2100yen. Buy at the Jimokagen terminal. Would like to have found this sooner but enjoy.
