Now that Okada, Ospreay and Tama Tonga are leaving, Naito is coming to an end and Tanahashi isn’t really a main eventer anymore, that leaves quite a gap at the top within the next couple of years.
I haven’t watched for long, but I think that it would be smart to push ZSJ, Shingo Takagi, EVIL, maybe David Finlay and Sanada in the short term and to set the stage for Tsuji, Uemura, Fujita, Umino and Narita.
Of the latter, I think that Fujita can win the 6 man tag Championship, Tsuji and Umino can be winning a singles title before the next WK, maybe Narita with Sho (?) can win a junior tag title and possibly Uemura could win or at least challenge for the TV title?
I don’t think these guys should be rushed, but Umijo and Tsuji feel more ready than the others.
It would be awesome to see ZSJ as the main champion, even if only for a couple of defences.
I can see Hiromu Takahashi winning the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship and holding it at WK 19.
Thoughts?
