Housing near futako-tamagawa station

Hi everyone,

I (30M) just signed a contract with a company in tokyo, which is located next to futako-tamagawa station. I am gonna move from abroad (France). And so i hope you can share your tips with me to start this new adventure.

My contract is a haken, i will have a one year working visa, and i am not sure if i will stay at the company the next year. My income after deduction is expected to be around 430000 per month. I would like first to search for a temporary (3 or more months) accommodation, to see how it goes. I also will have a day of remote working ( and maybe even more after a few month).

Do you have some places to recommend? I don’t mind doing a few km by bike ( max 25min ) to my workplace. I would like to avoid the crowd on the den-en-toshi line.

Now after i am working and live in Tokyo, what would you recommend? stay in the sharehouse for the year? Try to find an appartement on my own? An other housing solution?

Regarding myself the only regular activity i do after work is kendo. I like cycling too, so commuting with a bike would be nice. Other than sports, optionally i am into rythm arcade games, anime/manga/LN(if i could i would have the odaiba gundam unicorn on my front yard) , i like hiking on the week end, spend some time outside in parcs. And i like restaurants, both with friends and alone.

Edit: Regarding appartements, how is it if i leave one before the end of the lease ? I don’t intend to stay in the company if my salary stay the same the next year ( i am under below market, i accept it only as a first step) . I also don’t know if i will stay in Tokyo. If i could have choose, i would have go for the kansai ( specially kobe, i really like the surroundings and the place) or aichi ( i stayed in Okazaki around two month in 2018). I already lived in Paris, which i left after 2years, so maybe it will be the same for Tokyo.

I welcome all informations and wish you a good day and an happy new year.

MK
