Hi, my sister and I will be in Kyoto on the night of Tsukimi and it is our first time there. We heard there was an event at Shinsen-en Garden/Nijo Castle for viewing the moon by boat. For purchasing tickets, these are the instructions:
“Boarding tickets for the boats are timed on the hour from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. are sold in advance (from around 3 p.m.) on the day. Entry costs US$3.39  and will be sold on a first come, first serve basis.”
I am confused as to whether that means you buy tickets for the hour on the exact hour that you show up, or if you can show up as early as 3pm and pick a time-slot that you want for the evening in advance. Has anyone done this experience before (or one like it) that knows how the ticket-purchasing process works?
