Greetings, I happily recieved acceptance from a Japanese university and I have the 100% of my tuition fee exempted as part of my scholarship (**though I will be still paying for my living expenses**).
Long story short, the next big step I have to do is to send the application materials for the Certificate of Eligibility (COE), and the university will apply for the COE on my behalf and then send it to me, if it’s approved hopefully.
However, one of the requirements for the COE approval is to have a ‘proof of sufficient funds’ through bank statement, income statement, etc. I have searched through the university’s entire website and even sent the inquiry, but they only give a vague answer: *”We highly recommend that students are able to demonstrate their financial capacity to support their studies at KUAS through their income and bank account etc.”*
I am afraid that I do not know what is the exact minimum amount of funds should I show to the university and have my COE approved, and I must know ASAP so I can have my family allocate funds for my studies.
So, what is the exact minimum amount should I show as an undergraduate student? (Keep in mind my 100% tuition scholarship, but me having to pay for living expenses)
