How is the tax or lack of tax on purchases from abroad determined? Does the country it comes from make a difference?
So far it seems pretty random. One thing won’t be taxed, the next thing (even though worth less) will be taxed…
Just got a sweet new gi sent from Korea, and it couldn’t be delivered because I wasn’t home and they want 3,300 yen in extra taxes (value 25,000 yen). Does that seem right?
