I’m currently working on my にほんじん through Duolingo. I’m also using anime and Japanese pop music to build up my understanding of the language. I’m also subscribed to the Sakuraco snack box and I watch a lot of YouTube videos of people in Japan to further build up my understanding of the culture. I’m also working on finishing my bachelor’s degree in elementary education here in the US. Once I finish my degree I intend to try spending a year working in Japan as an English teacher to see if I like Japan and decide if I would be interested in possibly immigrating to Japan. Currently I’m working as a special education teaching assistant so I am already building up my teaching experience.
I would like to find some people in Japan working in a similar field that might be able to provide some helpful insights and perspectives as I build up my skills with the Japanese language and do further research into possibly teaching in Japan in the future.
