So I’ve gone to Japan several times and like many of you, overspent/over-shopped and ended up needing extra luggage 😅
I’ve always gone for cardboard boxes…used to take them from the supermarket for free, but realised the ones sold at the hotels tend to be sturdier and they are pretty cheap, 300-500 yen? It’s easier to just discard them once home, instead of fretting about space for a new piece of luggage at home.
But I keep reading about people buying actual luggage/suitcases to store their shopping instead of using cardboard boxes, so I’m wondering if there are reasons for doing so? (Beyond the trouble of taping the box, or wrapping with raffia string to create handles for easier holding, etc etc.)
My experiences using cardboard boxes as extra storage for the flights home have been fine thus far 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 I’m just getting a tad worried/paranoid reading all the comments and posts and wondering if there were some considerations that I’d never taken into account against using cardboard boxes! Ahaha…😬
