Sabani expert/historian? – Questions about the ēku

Hello, I’m looking for someone to answer a short set of questions I have about sabani, or more specifically the oars used in sabani. My interest comes from my practice of ēku in kobudō. If anyone can answer my questions or direct me/relay my questions to someone who can it would be appreciated.

For simplicity, these are my main questions:

>I have been told that there are three types of ēku (mewēku, nakawēku, and tumuwēku) and that each has a different size and different use.
>
>**•** Is this accurate? What are the differences?
>
>**•** How long is each one usually?
>
>**•** How much does each weigh?
>
>**•** How are they used differently in sabani?
>
>**•** Where should the center of gravity be on an ēku?

And of course any other information that can be offered, from a sabani or a kobudō perspective, would be just as appreciated!

Thank you for any help!
