How do folks with a gluten allergy maintain motivation to learn?

I’ve been studying hard for over a year now, and a lot of my motivation for learning Japanese stems from wanting to move there or at least continue taking trips there every year. Like many people when someone asks why I study Japanese one of the reasons is “I love the food”

Recently I learned I can’t eat any gluten (celiac) and according to reddit it seems like this disease doesn’t really exist in Japan. Are any of you learners in the same boat as me? Have you continued your studies despite the fact it seems actually being in Japan is difficult?
