I am planning a trip to Japan in late April, ending beginning of May. It will be my second time in Japan, and the first time for my husband. We will fly to Tokyo and can depart from Tokyo or Kyoto. Apart from one of the classics I am trying to fit some nature and less visited areas in the trip. But 10days is not a lot and I have some questions first.
I have three main considerations for my trip:
1. I know my dates are overlapping with Golden Week and I am wondering if it still makes sense, and how to plan the trip around it. When will it get busy? Around 29th of April or even before?
2. Would it be feasible to travel north to see cherry blossoms and maybe some less visited areas around? I thought about Aomori but it looks like a long trip. Any closer alternatives?
