One of the reasons NJPW is my favorite promotion to watch is the camerawork. From framing epic moments like this, to Jonah’s earthquake stomp, to vibing along with ELP and Hiromu’s entrances, to KENTA’s interactive backstage promos, it’s really creative stuff to watch.
NJPW cinematography runs laps around American pro wrestling. Very much enhances the general feel of the entire show and it’s always so smooth.
EDIT: Keeping Ospreay in the shot and using a lower angle so we the viewer (like Ospreay) are looking up at Okada is some real movie shit. Very impressive work!
NJPW forever the undisputed king of wrestling cinematography
Okadas robe game has been pretty weak lately
The rainmaker pose zoom out gets me every time
Okada must have borrowed that robe from Danshoku Dino.
To be honest it was a great match but I was disappointed Okada won
Better than kevin dunn’s shaky camera bullshit
NJPW cinematography is just phenomenal.
Easily the best in the game, and frankly I wish they taught other promotions a thing or two
This camera work is better then most movies today.
NJPWs cinematography is amazing, I really appreciate all the little things they do in their presentation. Things like the angle to catch Will and Okada’s stare down. The camera shaking when Jonah stomps during his entrance just makes everything seem bigger.
And it just baffles me that people don’t see why Ospreay lost. He’s chasing Okada.
Seeing Ospreay lose again is really saddening.

Always love this shot. You just know they’re about to into battle
one underrated aspect of NJPW camerawork and why its so good is that it operates the opposite to how WWE and AEW operates. In WWE the wrestlers need to be mindful of where the camera is and so they always make sure to face the hardcam whenever possible etc. In NJPW the camera follows what the wrestler does and its on them to get the good shot, not the wrestlers.

Ospreay should’ve won
