Hello all,
After much research, I’d very much appreciate some itinerary advice please! My husband and I will be heading on our honeymoon, first visiting Seoul before flying over to Japan. My current thoughts for our Japan adventure are:
Thur 28 March – fly into Narita, landing approx 6pm. Head to hotel in Shibuya, find dinner & drinks / explore locally.
Fri 29 Mar – AM head to Chidorigafuchi park (hopefully this will be the right time of year to see cherry blossoms?), explore and pick up some brunch. Then head to Sensoji/ Asakusa Shrine, Nakamis-dori street. In the evening, explore Akihabara.
Sat 30 Mar – heading to Yokohama to visit a friend for lunch. Head back to Tokyo for the evening. Head to Shibuya Sky, hopefully around sunset (need to look at tickets, is it worth swapping this with the plans for Sunday?).
Sun 31 Mar – Miraikan. Teamlab Borderless. Followed by exploring Harajuku and Golden Gai (is this day too much? We would be open to considering swapping these out if needed, however husband is an engineer and I would like to visit Teamlab Borderless. Would the evening be better swapped with Saturday?)
Mon 1 Apr – Check out of hotel, head to Shinagawa station and catch Shinkansen to Kyoto. Check into Ryokan (near Kyoto tower). Head to Fushimi Inari Taisha in afternoon. Evening in/near Ryokan.
Tue 2 Apr – check out of Ryokan and move to hotel (near Kyoto station.) Head to Kiyomizudera Temple, Hokanji Temple Pagoda, Gion, hopefully get tickets for Miyako Odori 24, Hanamikoji street.
Weds 3 Apr – Early AM Kyoto station to Saga Arashiyama, walk to Sagano Bamboo Forest. Possibly visit Kameyama area. Then get romance train from Torokko Arashiyama to Kameoka Torokko – walk to Umahoria St and train back to Kyoto. (or, is it worth doing this in the opposide order?)
4 April – Shinkansen to Osaka. Hozenji Temple, Dontonbori…wondering if the journey to Osaka castle is worth it?
Fri 5 Apr – Morning in Osaka (any suggestions welcome). In the afternoon, train to hotel near KIX ready to fly back early AM 6th April.
Any advice would be much appreciated – we’re used to being pretty active on holidays. There is so much more we would like to see and do – but unfortunately we can’t extend the trip and also won’t be in a position to visit again in the foreseeable future…We are really hoping to get a good variety on the trip, appreciating we may not scratch the surface.
