Of course everything takes time to get used to but I have also seen some native born and raised Japanese people who uses basic eng keyboard(qwerty). The biggest argument that jap. Speakers have is that with qwerty keyboard you can input(by accident)combination of characters which Japanese doesn’t use for example: Q, L, X.
