I wish A Silent Voice (2017) Never Got Snubbed At the 90th Academy Awards

I know this is a bit late, but how on earth has no one talked about A Silent Voice (2017) being snubbed for awful movies like The Boss Baby and Ferdinand? In my opinion, A Silent Voice is my favorite movie of all time. This movie is Naoko Yamada’s magnum opus, and her talent in animation and being a director is shown through this absolute masterpiece of a film. Kensuke Ushio’s score is the best score I have heard in any film and I love how he centered the score around blending electronic sounds and the piano and recording the sounds of the piano inside the piano to give it a muffled sound in order to put the audience in the perspective of the deaf deuteragonist, Shoko Nishimiya. I’m not going to spoil anything here, but the pacing and eroding was so well done that it truly left me at the edge of my seat in suspense. As an aspiring filmmaker, the academy should not have ignored this movie. It should have won Best Animated Feature for Naoko Yamada, Best Original Score for Kensuke Ushio, Best Film Editing, Best Director for Naoko Yamada, and even Best Picture. The fact that it not only won nothing, but it didn’t even get nominated for anything is outrageous to me. In conclusion, I hate the Academy for snubbing this masterpiece of a film for garbage movie. If you haven’t watched A Silent Voice yet, then go watch the masterpiece for yourself. Make sure to watch it in Japanese as the English dub is not good at all. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
