ちゃうかい

There’s this video in which a guy asks an Okinawan what’s the best thing there, and he says the sea. The interviewer then proceeds to ask him “where would you take your girlfriend?” and the guy says “to karaoke”. Then, the interviewer says “海ちゃうんかい!”

I know that this is the equivalent to ちがう, but why does it mean “it’s actually the sea!” in this sentence? how does this usage work?
