I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re doing it for fun there’s no reason to do the jlpt. Although it may look good on resumes. Not to also mention that it could make you lose motivation if you never wanted to take the jlpt in the first place
I signed up for this year and am browsing reddit while watching youtube videos. So I’d say no, it’s not very motivating.
If you can, the better bet is to build study into your daily routine.
