I ordered things (e.g., small electronics, tools) from AE before COVID and shipping times were pretty good. I’m now looking at ordering a few things like iphone and laptop replacement parts and some of the shipping estimates are saying near the end of October. Is shipping really this slow these days or are they just being extra generous with their estimates?

It may not only the shipping that’s the problem but also the availability of the parts. China’s zero COVID strategy had them weld people shut in their buildings and apartments, just one example of some of the measures. This has punched massive holes into many a supply chain. You take this and the lack of regular passenger flights and you get maybe in October. It wouldn’t surprise me if they estimated optimistically.
I buy from AliExpress all the time, it usually arrives in 2 weeks. Last stuff I bought arrived even faster.
That being said, sometimes you can get unlucky and it’ll take months to arrive.. but it was like that before COVID too.
It always arrives way before the estimate. They just do that so you can’t claim it was delayed.
So far I’ve got everything within two weeks even if the shipping estimate says two months or so.
I get mine within like 3-4 weeks
It’s a guess game.
I bought stuff that only took 10 days, then some stuff will take 30 days or even 40 days. You never know 🙂
But it’s dirt cheap so I don’t mind at all.
