Student visa and working remotely

Hi everyone,

I’m going soon to Japan as a student (Japanese language school).

I’m currently working as a self-employed in my country. My work is all digital and I can work remotely from anywhere. Therefore I would to continue my self-employed activity once in Japan, if possible, and of course still respecting the 28 hours per week limit.

As my activity would be registered in my country and not in Japan, I don’t know if this is possible / legal. I remember reading somewhere that I would need to ask for a special permission to work remotely for a foreign company but I can’t find anything.

Does anyone know what I should do ? Or is it better to close my business in my country and register as self-employed in Japan ?

Thanks for your help.
