I got a little bit of dilemma in my hands and need a bit of guidance.
I moved to Japan in 2022 to work for a very Japanese electronics company. I am getting around 311k yen a base salary and get overtime payment for every hour I work overtime. The company pays 70k for rent and rest of the rent(12k) is deduces from my salary. So all in all I am making close to 470k a month total. Apart from this I get 2 bonuses amounting nearly 1.5m yen a year. So in total I get around 7.2M a year.
Recently I’ve been job hunting and got past the hr/sales and technical interview for a FAE job in a gaishikei . We will be pushing for 9M a year and around 300k yen(after tax) sign-up bonus for the lost money I would get from bonus.
It is a no brainer of course in this situation but,
I will probably get a salary increase after June If I pass management exams in the company(only accounting exam left) which means salary increase about 40k a month also would get an increase about 3.5 percent this month.
Also yesterday at 送別会 one of the managers told me if I have any intention of leaving my current company. If the rent is a problem( If I ever get married they cut the rent support which sucks since I will probably get married in a year or so) I can get married first then they can send me to US for 2-3 years and when I come back they can pay the rent again. Which is a really good offer but I want to get eijuken(永住権)first.
So what would you do if you were me ?
