I’m currently studying kanji using RTK (*Rememebring the Kanji* by James Heisig) since sometimes I was mistaking words with each other while reviewing vocabulary on Anki (and having some leeches because of that) because I wasn’t paying attention to the kanji. I downloaded an Anki deck to review and since the stories aren’t written on the cards, I’m writing my own stories on the cards. And this works better for me to be honest.
To be more in dept about certain characters, I’m using the book *The Key to All Joyo Kanji* by Noriko Kurosawa Williams. It talks about the history of each character showing they in their ancient form and explaining what the radicals actually represented and what is the real sense of each joyo kanji. Of course, some explanations aren’t good to remember the kanji, like when a character got simplified (like 覺 that became 覚) or when the radical was put there only because of the reading (like the 苗 included in the kanji 猫 because the reading *myou* sounds like a cat’s meow). But it still helping because I have more context about the character.
But I struggle when RTK has kanji that is not on the joyo kanji list since that book only covers the joyo kanji. In those cases I search on internet, but it’s hard to find a good resource about it. Does someone know a good resource giving more informations about these kanji?
