Hey guys!
This is our first time traveling in Japan, we are excited and nervous! I have been doing most of the planning and it is a bit overwhelming, so I figured I need some help! I’m attending an exchange program for couple of weeks before meeting up and travel with my boyfriend.
This is a food tour + activities tour, I don’t wanna overplan and miss out on the exciting surprises that we might see so it might not be very clear. It is really appreciated if you can take a look and tell us if anything isn’t reasonable, or need more time on the plan. It would also be super helpful if you guys can suggest some restaurants/ your favorite places/ hidden gems that you personally love. Crowded places are impossible to avoid with those locations, but we’ll make do as best as we can.
Besides that, I have a couple questions regarding our trip:
1. The airport which I first arrive at isn’t possible for me to pick up the pocket Wifi. So should we just both use eSim?
2. Is it possible for me to get Suica/Pasmo at Niigata or do I have to wait till I get to Tokyo to get it? I use Android phone so its not possible to add the mobile card to my phone 🙁
3. I heard that in Art Aquarium in Ginza isn’t that fun and is cruel to the fish there? Is this true and can you suggest some other places with animals interaction (aquarium/zoo) that doesn’t harm the animals?
4. According to our plan, should we get the JR pass or just normal tickets?
5. What is the weather gonna be like from mid March till the end of March in Niigata and Tokyo, I heard that it’s pretty hot this year compared to others, should we pack light, casual clothing with coats or warm clothing?
6. Is there any fun activities – parades, festivals, interesting fairs from mid March till the end of March in Hakone, Niigata, or Tokyo that we can attend to?
7. I heard that Sensoji is crazily packed. Is it worth it? Is there anyway we can avoid the crowd? or should we just go to another shrine?
8. Can you suggest some cool places to visit in Tsukiji? I only see people mentioning Tsukiji Outer Market. Our hotel is located here so it would be so helpful for some suggests.
