I am looking at renovating a two-floor akiya in central Chiba built in the 1970s in traditional Japanese style which is pretty common around the region.
The place needs alot of work like installing a septic tank and pretty much replacing all surfaces including tile roof (skeleton reform as they call it here). Also probably want to do some work to improve resistance to earthquakes. On the positive side the foundation looks pretty good and I dont see a lot of damage in the foundation etc. (no visible shiro-ari damage etc)
I imagine some companies are more suited than others on this type of kominka renovations and I was wondering if people here have experience or even suggestions of good construction companies in the area?

This other [recent thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/japanlife/comments/1akq1p9/are_these_renovationcontracting_prices_fair_they/) mentioned (among with rising cost which is a concern), that going to the local home center could be one way to find local constructors would that also work for kominka?
