Midnight arrival to Haneda. Transportation? eSIM options? Cash?

Hi,

I will be arriving at Haneda Airport at midnight. After accounting for an hour at most for immigration and customs (it could be less or more, who knows). I’ve got some questions once I’m past the immigration area.

Transportation:
I’m aware that public transportation isn’t operational at that time. I’ve looked into the Luminous Bus, which operates late at night and can take me close to my hotel in Shinjuku. However, since convenience is my top priority, I’m leaning towards taking a taxi. I’m not concerned about the cost. My question is, do I need to pre-book the taxi, or can I simply go and find plenty of taxis available? Especially considering it’s late at night.

Internet:
I’ve been researching online, and it seems all the eSIM providers, such as Sakura, are closed during the hours I’ll need one. I’d like to hear about your experiences with eSIM providers like Mobal. I found they offer 50 GB of data for 16 days, which is perfect for me. I just need to confirm if there’s a fair usage policy. I’m traveling solo and will be using my phone almost constantly. I wouldn’t want my speed to be throttled after reaching a certain daily usage limit.

Cash:
I plan to use my credit card for all payments (loyalty points 😉). However, I understand that cash is necessary, especially for emergencies. What’s the minimum you would recommend to have upon arrival? (I can withdraw later if needed)

Thank you 😊
