Unknowingly lowballed myself when asked about salary expectations in final interview

Hi there! So I had an interview yesterday with the CTO for a mid-level full-stack/web development role, and when he asked about my salary expectations, he said that he was surprised because he thinks/thought my range was too low based on my qualifications. The weird part is that I gave them something within the range that was posted in the job ad, but despite that, I was still told this.

I guess my question is how pushy should I be about negotiating the salary when the offer comes in if it’s still in the range I gave? It went really well and he basically said that he just needed to talk to the CEO about getting me an offer letter and then the negotiations can start. I could probably live off the range I gave, but of course I’d rather try to negotiate for more (depending on the offer) now that I’m aware of my position.

Thank you!
