Hi y’all,
Unfortunately I didn’t make it to the interview phase. It sucks, but I’m still optimistic going forward and trying to figure out areas to improve. I know that acceptance can be a luck of the draw, but I probably had a weaker SOP than I would’ve liked to admit. I want to be able to bolster it this time with more effort.
My main question for successful JET applicants, whether it was the first or one of numerous attempts, is what can I do between now and September to be able to back up my SOP? I know they’re looking for candidates who are flexible and resilient with their placements but how can I demonstrate that beyond just saying, “I’m a flexible person”? I feel like my main hurdle right now is not having receipts for my claims. Thank you in advance!
