365 days to N3 — Looking for advice on my Routine & Schedule!

**Hi everyone,**

Long time lurker, I’ve been to Japan a few time sand I’m looking to move there within the next few months. I’ve decided to [“go hard”](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ChNkNqIhwI7ZC9UjFXTlQGoeJUxffBjpZ9ZH_-0ptq0/edit?usp=sharing) and learn Japanese starting from zero to N3 in 365 days. I plan on spending 4 hours a day on this, 2 in the morning, 2 in the evening, along with a few hours of immersion a day (watching anime, listening to music, reading, and so on). It looks like I’ll need to split up my time between Vocabulary, Grammar, and Kanji (and Kana in the first month).

**What I need help on?**

How much of my 4 hours (and in which block, morning or evening) should I dedicate to each over the course of 12 months? For example, I’m probably good with focusing only 1 hour a day on Kana for the first month (seems quick enough to learn), but for example, how many of my 4 hours should be on Vocab compared to Grammar in the 6th month? [Here’s my routine,](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ChNkNqIhwI7ZC9UjFXTlQGoeJUxffBjpZ9ZH_-0ptq0/edit?usp=sharing) any comments or suggestions to how I’d breakdown my 12 months would be great.

I’m also interested in knowing what tools you might choose for which blocks (For example, “Duolingo is only helpful for the first 3 months”, etc). While I’m interested in hearing your thoughts, ultimately, I’ve learned that the best tools/services for learning are the ones that are the most fun and engaging, and the one that I can keep up with the most consistently.

**Thanks for the advice everyone!**
