I’ve had a sewage smell in my apartment for three weeks. It’s coming from the shower drain which I’ve recently cleaned. My building recently caried out some maintenance with the pipes, but my apartment was skipped since I didn’t see a notification and wasn’t home at the time. I’m told this is the reason they won’t do anything about it. Can the consequence really be that I live in this stench for two years until the end of my contract? (Honestly, I would like to live there longer.) It can be dangerous to inhale sewage air so I’m distressed about this and wonder whether I can contact some health authority or something. Also, it sucks because I can’t have anyone over, and it’s not fun to eat or live in the smell in general. I don’t get how this can even be legal and how they can be so lacking in empathy? What should I do?
