Found full bloom cherry blossoms in Tokyo

For everyone else disappointed in Tokyo’s late cherry blossom season (as of 3/31) –

Check out Roka Koshun’en Garden. About 35 min via Keio line from Shinjuku. All 12 trees there are currently full bloom, as well as tulips and canola flowers! Also enjoyed the break from crazy crowds.

Otherwise – Shinjuku Gyoen has many (the largest clusters were around the formal garden). Saw a handful in Ueno Park.

  3. Ueno park had a few today but nothing spectacular. A lot in bloom though so fingers crossed the next couple days.

  8. Shinjuku Gyoen visitors need advance reservations for specific dates- this weekend and I believe the next. Just FYI in case anyone is visiting on those dates.

  10. 12 trees 😂 Come to Virginia Beach. We have 150 trees in a park donated by our sister city Miyazaki that are in full bloom

  11. Very happy for late bloom, my trip was April 5-16 and was afraid I’d miss out but looks like I will be perfect after all.

  15. My trip is perfect for cherry blossoms full bloom as I will be in Tokyo on April 6-11.

  17. I’ve been traveling around Japan since the 19th and now won’t be back in Tokyo until the 5th. I wonder if any will be left?

  18. On 4/1 there’s quite a few more in Shinjuku Goyen than 3/28 or even 3/31. Ueno basically nothing still. 3/30 there was a good handful at the Imperial palace so I imagine it’s a lot better now. 3/30 also nothing at Sumida park.
