I tried my Visa and Mastercard to no avail. Can I use my friend’s Amex card to purchase train tickets ahead of times, and would it be a problem when I pick up my tickets in Japan? Since I will be reserving it under my name, but the credit card is not going to be a passenger, is it a problem? Has anyone tried this and did it go smoothly? TIA!
