Getting Kicked Out of My Sharehouse and Need Advice

Hello y’all,

This is a throwaway account for obvious reasons. As the title suggests, I am getting kicked out of my sharehouse in two months.

Apparently, from what the landlord said, there have been “many complaints from neighboring tenants regarding noise and cleanliness” about me, which makes no sense because I have been following the rules since I moved in. Plus, I see other tenants around me break the rules all the time.

This complaint was made to me in the last two months as well. Since I moved in, I have been wanting to sign a year contract. However, every month I asked if I could sign, he would give me the same reason I mentioned above, “neighbor complaining about cleanliness and noise”

In my opinion, I think this is some type of excuse to get me out of the sharehouse. I am the only foreigner living in the Sharehouse, and everyone else is Japanese. I don’t want to think it’s this because everyone who lives there seems to get along with me. I talk with everyone in the common room, and no one gives me any attitude regarding my presence. I consider some of them friends. But who knows right?

For some background on me, I am an average-height American man, with a Hispanic background. I know how to speak some Japanese (which is how I was able to apply to the sharehouse), but I am not fluent. I have kind of a shy, aloof personality, and mostly keep to myself, but I don’t mind conversation.

Anywho, is there any way I can go about this? Can I keep living in the sharehouse or will I have to move? Finding an apartment is very expensive and I want to live in the Sharehouse longer until I can find a place.
