Dune Part 2 just released today, and I‘m curious if the fremen language is subtitled in both English and Japanese. I’m assuming a significant portion of the film is in the made up language, so it would be nice to know what to expect beforehand. Has anyone seen it yet? Thanks in advance!

RemindMe! 1 Day
what, you don’t speak fremen?
I’ve seen it, iirc the Fremen language parts are subtitled in both Japanese and English.
Good question. Was it used in the first movie? I watched it here but I don’t remember. Hell, I’ll just rewatch it, haha.
Yes, both.
FWIW I saw the Part 1 IMAX reshowing two days ago and it had both Japanese and English subtitles for Fremen parts.
Saw it last sunday IMAX. Don’t worry. There is english and japanese subtitles during fremen language. Go for IMAX buddy. Pretty dope movie!
Yes. I saw it IMAX in Hibiya last Sunday; amazing experience, highly recommend.
Fremen language is subtitled in English but along with the Japanese subititles it ended up covering half the screen
Oh, i just posted this question lol. Now I just need to find tickets for IMAX.
Typically fantasy languages are burnt-in English subs with side vertical Japanese subs. That’s the way they did it with the LotR and Hobbit movies. Even some non-Japanese real foreign languages are done this way in subbed screenings, because the subtitles are often graphic now.
Saw part 2 today. Both subtitles.
it came out last week, and if you watch it in English, you get both Japanese and English subs when the Fremen speak their language.
All you need to to know is LISAN AN GAIB!
Listen buddy, this is why you need to be at least N2 in Fremen before even considering coming to Arrakis
watched it last weekend, the fremen parts are subbed in both English and Japanese
I saw it in an OS cinema yesterday and yes most of it is subtitled in both.
A few short moments were not subtitled in either, but I suspect it would be the same in the version intended for English viewers.
