So, currently, I am learning Japanese as much as I can. However, I have recently gotten myself Anki with Yomitan ready, and learn with Textbooks as well as Immersion & Reading a lot. Whenever I am reading something, to be able to import it into my Anki deck. I also wanted to do the same thing with watching anime with Japanese subtitles, but there was the problem that you have to get the anime, the subs, etc., and merge them, which is too much hassle for an otherwise simple process.
A very good site with already present subtitles is Animelon, where you do not have EVERY anime, but a lot, and it provides a transcript with the Japanese subs. You can straightaway click it into your Anki deck should you encounter an unknown word or Kanji, and you can also display multiple subs at the same time. Just something I wanted to recommend for Japanese learners.
Once you have Yomitan ready with Anki, you can actually dive right into it. I have my Anki set up so that when I am importing a Kanji or word I do not know into my custom deck whilst reading or watching something, I have the Kanji, the definition, as well as the audio and an automatic screenshot of where that word was taken. The best part is that I have a sentence with context as well, not just the word. However, that is just my setup, and it looks something like this:
