Hello all, I will be traveling to Kyoto with my family including a 3 year old. Our hotel (301-1 Narayacho, Nakagyo Ward, Kyoto, 604-8033, Japan) is approximately 3 kilometers from the south entrance of Kyoto station. We plan to taking the morning Shinkansen (between 7:30 and 8 a.m) back to Tokyo. I am considering my options to reach the station on time. Google maps suggests there are bus services but they seem to stop at the north end and we’ll have to walk quite a bit to the south side where the Shinkansen tracks are. This maybe a problem with the toddler. I am also worried if bus services would be packed in the morning as our travel time corresponds with rush hour. The best and hassle free option seemed to be to take a cab as it can drop us directly at the south entrance . What are your thoughts? Do I need to book a cab in advance or would I have to go to some taxi stand and hail it myself (Language maybe a problem if I have to do it myself). I am also checking with the hotel if they can help hail a cab .
