Hiiii can someone who is familiar with the nightlife scene in Japan give me some recommendations on where to go see EDM, specifically house music? My husband and I are going in May for our honeymoon and I would love to surprise him with tickets to a show but there are so many clubs and venues I have no clue where to start. Some additional info:
-We are in Japan for 14 days total, but there are 2 days that would be the most ideal for staying up late without compromising the activities/tours/travel that we already have set in stone. Those days are both Thursdays, one of which we will be in Tokyo and the other we will be in Kyoto. The Kyoto date seems the most promising because we don’t have anything planned until 11am the following day.
-In Tokyo we are staying at the Park Hotel, and in Kyoto we will be at the Noku Hotel
-I would ideally prefer a venue that is close-ish to our hotel, but I’m also willing to venture further if there aren’t any good options close to us
-Ticket/entry price is not a concern
-As I mentioned, we love house music but also can get down to techno, trance, etc. so please send any recommendations
Also, for those who are familiar with Japan nightlife, is there anything we should be aware of safety-wise? I want us to be able to let loose and have fun, but also of course not have anything sketchy happen.
