I was looking for a place with several real estate companies. Found a place that suits me the best, but had a few other candidates and some of the real estate agents were really nice and followed up with updates like reduced price. I want to reply to them, at least so they stop messaging me. But I am wondering what to tell them, and how to tell them – I understand that it’s business and they factor this in, but as I said, the agents were nice and I’d like to also be respectful in the reply.

Just say you found a place already and say that you appreciated their help. Thats enough to not burn a bridge in case you need to use them again.
Japanese real estate agents are thugs just take the new deal. If you engage them they will threaten you and say all kinds of lies better to just ghost them.
I have moved 6 times in Japan and I have had nothing but bad experiences with agents here Like a bunch of used car salesmen.
Just tell you are not interested & ask them to stop contacting you.
It’s just a job for them, they won’t take it personally lol
