We tried to avoid Kyoto & Nikko during the weekend, because of the autumn colors crowd. (We know it will be crowded anyhow, but is this a good idea?)

I’ve read it’s better to visit Miyajima in the morning to beat the crowds and also because the tide is high, but will it still be possible to visit Himeji castle on the way back to Kyoto? Or would it be better to switch something around?

It feels like a lot of hotel hopping.. (Tokyo>Kawaguchi>Osaka>Hiroshima>Kyoto>Tokyo) By the way, we will be traveling by public transport. We will look further into the planning during the day, but does the outline of the planning make sense or should we put things in a different order?

We’ve used Expedia & Booking before and never had any isues. However Agoda has cheaper options sometimes, but I’ve read they use high exchange rates. Any experiences/tips for using Agoda?

Thanks in advance!
