Hello all, heading to Japan in mid June (family of 6, 5 adults 1 teen(15)). For about 9.5 days, since we will be landing in Haneda at 3:40 PM (as the flight says) and the plan was to stay in Tokyo for about 4.5 days and head to Osaka for 4.5 days and return to Tokyo to catch our flight to go back home in Haneda.
It’s our first time traveling to Japan so we are basically going to most of the tourist areas as I think that’s what everyone does for first timers.
We decided to cancel out the parks (Disney and universal) because of the summer time and assuming that wait times/park itself is just going to be a madness. So we thought it’d be better to cancel that out and focus more on other areas, maybe visit Mount Fuji for a day instead and add other excursions/activities.
There is a planned itinerary but with the research that I’m doing, it looks like a lot of the things planned gets thrown out the window. Obviously because of time being spent whether it be shopping, being lost, or figuring out the train system lol.
Now my question is, do we cancel the Osaka side of Japan and stay in Tokyo since I’m sure there’s so much to do or do we continue with going to Osaka and visiting Nara/Kobe for a day each? Or do I basically save it for another trip because I do plan to explore Japan more throughout my lifetime.
Help, and sorry for the long explanation for such a simple question 😅 although I still have much more to ask, but better to save for another post/subreddit.
