I’m 25/F/Chicago. I’ve been working as a part-time substitute teacher for 3 years alongside my full-time government contracted gig. Said contract is ending, and I’ve decided to take the jump to teach abroad in Japan! I really want to be in a city- just like everyone else, I know 🙂 I’ve been researching but feel stuck and want to connect with those who could provide insight.
I’ve heard that private schools are the best route to be placed in the city and make decent money, but which ones have good reputations? What’s the best way to connect with these schools for interviews?
Are there any programs/jobs that are in Tokyo/Osaka/Kyoto that pay around 250,000JPY, have medium work/life balance, and help with visa/housing? Since I have teaching experience and substitute licensure, I’m hoping to find opportunities that check my boxes!
I’m flexible with age range, class timing (can work nights and weekends, no problem) have an artistic background and science bachelors degree.
